How a Chest Pain Specialist Conduct Diagnosis

When you visit Northwest Heart Center, we do not rule out any cause. Hence, our team will assess your situation to verify if you have a heart problem that requires urgent care.

Starting with initial tests, our chest pain specialist might suggest an electrocardiogram (EKG), chest X-ray, computerized tomography (CT) scan, or blood tests. In addition, if you develop heart-related symptoms later or your condition is not an emergency in the first place, further tests might be required. These include:

  • Echocardiogram
  • Treadmill Stress Test
  • Exercise or Stress Test
  • PET Nuclear Stress Test
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Mobile Cardiac Telemetry

In some instances, we recommend angiograms as well, which is a coronary catheterization procedure. In this process, our team will gain access to your heart via an artery to inject a contrast dye. After the coronary catheterization procedure, our cardiologist will view your fluoroscopy, which is a moving x-ray.

We are dedicated to providing you with proper and effective treatments for your heart conditions. Once our experts determine the cause of your chest pain, they will proceed with adequate treatment.
